What I really need in life is an assistant; to schedule me, tell me when to pick up kids, when the next meeting is, what event, I don't need to be late too, but that hasn't happened yet, so until one of those pops up on my doorstep I have to figure out what to do on my own, before I forget what day my kids starts school. August 16th by the way, I think!
School calendar is always a mess to me. I usually have another mom, who reminds me of the parent/teacher meetings, or "don't forget to register holden for this or that", or Holden reminds me himself. And the organized mom, who used to tell me all of that is no longer in my son's class, so I am pretty doomed.
So this year I am trying to lay out some new organizational tools. I am visual so this might ,just might, help me as I remember projects, school events, business ideas, and so forth. If you know me I have 1 gazillion ideas in my head at all times, so things tend to get all jumbled if not written out.
Here are a few tips I am trying, maybe it will help you too. Don't fret mamas we are all gonna be hot messes at some time or another this year, and that's why I will still need others to tell me when things are going down, but I'm gonna try to be proactive in the mean time. (p.s. I just got back from vacation so this productiveness will last about a day, and then I will just have the vacation blues, that's why I am holding myself accountable now).
1. Lay out all of my projects in front of me for the year on a big bulletin board.
2. Write the full year school calendar on bulletin board where I can easily see it, on one sheet of paper.
3. Vision board in sight, to keep me centered on goals for the year.
4. Put School calendar dates in Whitney English day designer for the WHOLE YEAR and email to hubby, then nobody can blame me for not telling anyone!
5. Chalk board in kitchen with weekly activities laid out for kids and family to see.
6. And about 10 different journals to add ideas too, because I love me some pretty journals, the more turquoise the better.
(other organized moms do you have any ideas, or do you want to just come over and organize me:) I will trade you a workout for organization skillz!
And don't even ask me at the end of the year how this all panned out....let's just hope for the best shall we.
