We all have some sort of emotion when we talk about our bodies. Much of how we treat our bodies comes from how we feel about ourselves in our minds.
We have to take care of our minds, and for many of us that is a journey we will constantly be pursuing and asking for God’s strength to get through. Whether it’s the words of someone else playing through our minds, or just Satan trying to add up all our failures and throw those in our face, the thoughts that are not HIS we must take captive, we must take prisoner.
2 Corinthians 10:5 THE VOICE “We are demolishing arguments and ideas, every high-and-mighty philosophy that pits itself against the knowledge of the one true God. We are taking prisoners of every thought, every emotion, and subduing them into obedience to the Anointed One.”
Taking captive some versions say, taking prisoner…do you know what that means? We aren’t saying oh, horrible thought, we don’t like you, go away…no we are capturing that thought and literally taking it prisoner.
I want you to think of some of the negative thoughts you may have about yourself sometimes.
I actually want you to write them down right now on a piece of paper. The thoughts that come up when you are trying to live wholly, fully….what are those thoughts? I want you to close your eyes, and I want you literally handcuff that thought, negative emotion and put it in the darkest, deepest dungeon, take your key…lock it up, throw the key out on the way and vow to never go visit that prison. I want you to write CAPTURE across your negative thoughts. But after we have captured them we then have TO REPLACE those thoughts with what God says about us…
CAPTURE and REPLACE, CAPTURE AND REPLACE… You can read guest writer's blog post on CAPTURE AND REPLACE series.
For we are the product of HIS HAND heavens poetry etched on lives.
What if we saw ourselves the way God sees us. How would we live out our day if we truly saw ourselves this way? I don’t mean in a cocky arrogant way, but would we live fully, purposefully, if we knew we Who WE ARE, because of WHOSE we are? What if seeing ourselves the way God sees us was our foundation? How would that change us?
Joyce Meyer: “God wants to make us whole and what He’s asking you to do is believe what His word says MORE than what YOU believe, think or feel.”
